Charles Blackman ,Australin artist born Sydney NSW 1928.Figurative artist,Had one man-shows in all Australian capital cities,Whitechapel London,Paris,Germany,Tokyo Japan,Hong Kong.AWARDS:Rowney Prize 1959,Helena Rubinstein 1960,Crouch Prize 1960,Silver Medal,"Twenty Nations" Exhibition,Saigon 1962;Awarded OBE and Queens Jubilee Medal in 1977 for services to the arts. REPRESENTED:ANG,NGV,ANGSW,AGWA City Art Gallery;University of QLD;University of Victoria;Monash University;University of WA;Reserve Bank of Australia,Musee D'Art Moderne,Paris;Contemporary Art Society,London;Many Private collections in Australia and overseas.
