Mary Troy was born in Ireland 1889. She studied at the Sorbonne in Paris and in London where she exhibited at the Royal Academy and the Cooling and Sons Gallery. After returning to Australia, she taught art in NSW. She held a number of solo exhibitions in both Sydney and London and in 1952 participated in the Wynne Prize.
