McLean Edwards was born in Darwin in 1972. He studied at Canberra School of Arts graduating in Fine Arts. He held his first solo exhibition in 1995, and since then has held over 15 further solo exhibitions, also participating in a wide variety and number of group exhibitions. Edwards was a finalist in the Archibald Prize in 2004, 2006, 2007, 2010 and 2013. His work can be found in public institutions such as the University of Queensland Art Museum, Artbank, Orange Regional Art Gallery, and the Australian War Memorial Museum.
